Message Before I put my engine back in last spring I pressure tested the whole fuel rail assembly(300degree rails with nismo 740's) to 70psi under neath water and there was no leaks.

But with the problems I mentioned in the title I can't help but wonder. I checked the vacuum hose on the regulator and dampener and they are bone dry.

Last night I installed a fuel pressure gauge after the filter and then I pinched off the feed and return line. I used vise grips and two quarters on each vise grip to pinch the hoses shut.

In a matter of three hours the pressure dropped from 50psi to 5psi. This led me to believe I have a leak however I removed the spark plugs and it is dry on top of the pistons. I placed a hose down into each spark plug hole and my nose at the other end and cylinders 1 and 2 had a strong smell of fuel while the others did not...but I wonder if maybe that was because the intake valves were only open on those two cylinders?

I just find it hard to believe they are leaking considering I pressure tested them under water. Plus, wouldn't the cylinder be wet?

I also did the test hot and cold. Both times it bled down to almost nothing but it took a few hours longer when the engine was cold.

Any thoughts? Should I just pull the fuel rail and pressure test it again? Is it possible a injector is leaking and not the o-rings them selfs?
